Rio Oceanarium on Dmitrovka
The Oceanarium in the shopping center Rio on Dmitrov highway takes a decent third place in the Moscow rating of the area of aquariums, giving way to such giants as the Moskvarium on VDNH and the Crocus City Oceanarium.
Its inhabitants are “settled” in 9 climatic and territorial zones: Arctic and Antarctica, Lagoon, Tropical Forest, Northern Territories and the Amazon, Caves and the Ocean.
The oceanarium features tunnel aquariums that allow visitors to observe marine animals as if from the bottom of the ocean. There are very interesting design solutions with lighting and decorations, which, for example, can imitate the environment of animals under the stars.
In a separate pool here swim predatory piranhas – which made the Amazon and its tributaries famous in a peculiar way.
The terrarium zone, where crocodiles, turtles, monitor lizards and anacondas live, is also of great interest to both children and their parents.
Oceanarium on Dmitrovskoye highway in the RIO shopping mall, Moscow – review
The cheapest oceanarium in Moscow and not only. Prices 2021, exposition, events. How to buy a ticket for only 300r.
Hello. Have you seen the prices for tickets to the Moskvarium? There are five of us in the family. To see the underwater inhabitants at the Moskvarium, it will cost us as much as the average salary in the regions. Our family adores fish and penguins. We go to the oceanarium once a year. I want to tell you about a good oceanarium, the tickets to which are the cheapest we have seen. It’s not as cool as, for example, in Dubai, but the price is much lower.
This year the RIO oceanarium on Dmitrovka upset us a little, but it was still interesting.
Address. How to get there.
Oceanarium is located at: Moscow, Dmitrov highway, 163 A. It is located on the ground floor of the shopping center RIO. This is 100 meters from the Moscow Ring Road. If you stand facing the shopping center, the entrance is on the far right. The escalator to the oceanarium is 70 meters from the entrance. You have to go straight until the end and then turn left. There are no signs, but there is a guard at the entrance. He will always tell you how to get there.
From 10 am to 10 pm. It’s open every day except on sanitation days. They are once a month. Given for 6 months in advance are listed on the website of the aquarium.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: adult 600 rubles, children 300 rubles.
Weekends and holidays: adult 700 rubles, children 350 rubles.
The best day to visit – Tuesday. Adult ticket 300 rubles, children 150 rubles.
Children under 5 years – always for free.
September 1 – all schoolchildren for free.
There are benefits for large families, students, pensioners and people with disabilities.
The advantages of visiting on Tuesday:
- very low price;
- very few people.
The best time to visit is 10 am.
Weekends can get crowded after 12 noon. Believe me, walking around the aquarium in the company of 5 – 6 families who are scattered throughout the room, much more comfortable than jostling for each aquarium.
You can buy tickets at the ticket office or on the official website.Price is the same.
Photography and video.
You can take photos, but only without flash.
- Excursions. Tours can be ordered by phone or by e-mail. We were not on the excursion, because the children are small, they are not interested. Group tours from 2000 rubles to 18 people. Animation program – 3500 rubles for 10 people.
- Diving with sharks and rays. Duration of 45 minutes. A detailed briefing is given. It is possible to order a gift certificate, which is valid for 6 months from the date of sale. 7000 rubles – 8000 rubles.
- Fish feeding days. Goes on 2 times a month. The schedule is published on the website. Free of charge.
- Water show “Dancing with sharks”. Schedule posted on the website. Free of charge.
Oceanarium RIO area 2,500 square meters. More than 100 species of fish. I won’t write about the fish, there are so many of them, varied, beautiful and very interesting. You have to see it for yourself. The list of fish with a detailed description is on the site.
At the RIO Oceanarium there are:
Tunnel Aquarium. Very beautiful.
The oceanarium is clean, nice to be in, the staff is friendly.
Minus. I really liked the little penguins. They waved their paws, swam close to the glass, somersaulted, ran funny. There were many of them and they looked beautiful, delighting adults and children alike. Something had happened to them. There were only a few of them. They sat sadly with their backs to the audience. Were very shabby and sickly looking. The look was sad. It was very sad for them. It was always pity for the caged penguins, but the babies were delighted. I don’t know what happened to them ((.
The Oceanarium Rio on Dmitrovka – I recommend it. Interesting and young children and adults. Cognitive and very beautiful. The size of the exposition is sufficient for children to be tired by the time they leave.
