Faroe Islands group is located between Scotland and Iceland (although belongs to Denmark). The name “Duymoon” presumably comes from the Celtic language and means “two hills. It reflects a certain geographical feature of this area: there are two mountains, which “look” to each other from the islands of Small Duymoon (Luytla Duymoon), which is uninhabited, and Great Duymoon, in contrast to the Small Duymoon, it has as many as 6 people.

The island has an area of 0.8 km², all of its surface is occupied by Mount Ravan, the height of which – 414 meters. The island is inhabited only by animals, these are sheep and tupik birds. Vegetation is also not very diverse, there are only eight species of plants. Sheep inhabited the island since ancient times, in the beginning it was a small black and short-haired breed, but it did not survive to this day, the last of them was shot in 1860, now there are modern long-haired sheep grazing, which inhabit the other islands of the Faroe archipelago. By the way, Faroe Islands are translated as – “Sheep Islands”.

A group of 18 Faroese islands is a secluded place in the middle of Atlantic Ocean in a remote neighborhood with Iceland and Scotland. The flora of the island is also not very diverse and numbers no more than eight plant species. In 1850 Denmark sold Luytle-Duimun for 5 thousand Danish thalers. However, the auction was not entirely fair, as the royal representatives deliberately inflated the price in order to replenish the Danish treasury.
